As a food lover, beauty product addict, exercise junkie, and wellness entrepreneur, Hannah Bronfman practically radiates confidence and health. But she’ll be the first one to admit that the road to wellness and self-acceptance hasn’t been easy. As a woman of color who grew up watching a close family member struggle with an eating disorder, Hannah’s had to forge her own path and create her own standards of beauty. And what she’s learned is this: Healthy is beautiful. And healthy should feel good.
In Do What Feels Good, Hannah offers real talk about getting in touch with your body’s needs, baring her soul and sharing her story along the way. Hannah provides insight on everything from gut health to nutrition to fitness to skincare, sharing insight from top experts on how to understand your body’s unique chemistry so that you can fuel it with more of the things that feel good and less of the things that don’t.
And since delicious food is one of the things that makes everyone feel good, Hannah shares more than 50 of her favorite recipes for healthy hedonism (desserts and cocktails included!). Enlightening, empowering, and educational, this is an approach to wellness that is holistic, hedonistic, and real. Because self-care should not feel self-punishing, and every body deserves to feel good.
Try something new for wellness’s sake I follow Hannah on Instagram for the pretty pics, but this book made me really admire her. Her voice is so warm and inviting in this book, like having a real conversation with her and what she has learned about wellness, and it’s made me reconsider how I have been approaching my life. This book has a great generalist approach to health - a little bit of everything to get you thinking about your health. Some of the tonics were a bit ridiculous, admittedly, and I will also admit to dropping some clams on adaptogens but it was something I had never considered before. Do what feels food! Do it, or don’t. Just consider maybe she has seen something you haven’t. That’s the point! Try something new, because whatever you’ve been doing all along might not be working. The hydration part was a wake up call - thanks, Hannah, I needed that tough love. My approach has always been to slap some makeup on and pretend there isn’t anything wrong, but she made me think about what is going on internally. It’s a beautiful book - the typeface, the photos, and organized. A good “new year, new you”. It gave me a few moments of me time to read everyday, as a busy mom, I needed a respite. Not for me This book reads more like a biography than a healthy living book. It contains a few good tips about enjoying healthy living. However the recipes are not for everyday cooks and use ingredients not readily available and expensive to purchase online. I was looking for a down to basics book and this was not it.Hannah is incredible! I've followed Hannah for years and always look forward to her content. I learn so much from her and this book is a tangible way of incorporating her lifestyle to my every day life to Feel Good.
