Title: Rexus Pdf Side Quest (The Completionist Chronicles Book 3)
Vengeful assassins. A treacherous companion. T-Rex Head Hands.
After the Wolfman nation is shattered, Jaxon has enough spare time to advance his skills and specialize into a better class. Since Joe and his other teammates are either incapacitated or on a mission Jaxon does not believe in, the misunderstood chiropractor turned gamer strikes out on his own.
The issue with creating your own path is that you have no idea what awaits you, especially when low charisma guarantees legendary misunderstandings. For Jaxon, that’s half the fun.
Rexus is a Completionist Chronicles side quest focused on Jaxon and is meant to be read following Regicide.
Lefty and Terror new favorite characters Rexus gives us amazing insight into the inner mind of Jaxon. I highly recommend reading it to find out his motivations, desires, and train of thought, because it is honestly fascinating. As someone with back problems I wish I had someone like Jaxon in my own life. I can't honestly begin to count the number of times after reading books 1 and 2 of the completionist chronicles I've sat and wondered "I wonder if there's a posture teacher near me. I wonder if that's even a real thing?"If you are on the border of "Should I read this?" Absolutely you should. I haven't laughed so hard in awhile, the way he interprets conversations is just so much fun. His understanding of how the game should be played is pretty unique, and he finds true l... Ok I may be exagerating that last one, but yes. This is not an entry into the series I would skip, you may otherwise become exceptionally confused come book 3 of the Completionist chronicles, whenever that may come out.3.8 stars A bit awkward to start but once it gets going its pretty good So this is a side story about a side character (Jaxon) in the Completionist Chronicles series which I found, initially, to be a lil' disappointing (I --REALLY-- wanted another book on the main character of the series) to even hear about at first. But I gave it a shot anyways due to Krout's other books being so good, and I'm happy I did. This story has a odd start to it which was initially rubbing me the wrong way. As a side character who popped up from time to time to add some flavor and comedy I liked him in the other books but in this one its all him all the time. And it was a little off putting at first since he seemed a bit one dimensional at first to me to get a whole book devoted just to him. However the book quickly shifts into gear once the quest begins and he becomes more interesting, at least to me anyways, when it starts to involve more action. And that is when Jaxon really starts to grow and/or become more interesting as a person. Also funnier too since there is more of a physical element to the humor he brings to the story rather than a verbal/dialog one IMO.Its kinda like with Chris Farley's humor where if you only had a audio version of it to go off of he wouldn't come across as all that funny but once you see him in action on video that you'll get it. Which sounds a bit odd I guess since I'm talking about a guy in a book, and not a video, here but its the best analogy I can think of that fits well enough.Krout's writing of the character's thoughts as well as the action scenes (which are descriptive and inventive enough to be fun to read without being a slog-to-read list detailing the hand, foot, toe, finger, etc. positionings juuust so like you get in some of R.A. Salvatore's stuff) are what make this book work so well and before I knew it I couldn't put the book down. And then "shortly" after that I'd read it all and now I'm stuck waiting for a new book again!!There is a little bit of main story line plot development towards the end but otherwise this is a great side story and now I'm kinda wishing some of the other support characters get one too.
